About the Project

MediaFit aims to enhance integrity of information in Ukraine and the resilience of Ukraine’s media against direct and hybrid threats, including cyber-attacks and disinformation campaigns.

The focus of the EU-funded project is on equipping regional media outlets with the means to tackle disinformation and to maintain media viability during the current economic crisis. The project is also funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

Conditions for journalists have seriously deteriorated since the Russian invasion on 24 February. The MediaFit project partners are therefore providing both short-term assistance to allow journalists to maintain operations, and opportunities for journalists to continue to train and build a community that will reinforce the regional media market. the MediaFit project is focused on developing professional journalism that is accessible to all.
In an attempt to answer both the short and long-term needs of the Ukrainian media sector, the MediaFit will be focusing on four outputs: crisis support for regional media across Ukraine, trainings for both journalists and administrative staff, support for the public broadcaster Suspilne and development of a network of broadcasters currently in exile.

The project is part of the #standforUkraine initiative from the European Commission.

Free regional media. Free Ukrainians.
