Amjad Abu Alaa<\/span><\/span> is a Sudanese <\/span>d<\/span>irector and <\/span>p<\/span>roducer, born in UAE and raised between Dubai and Sudan<\/span>.<\/span> He studied directing <\/span>and <\/span>media at UAE University and worked as a film director and <\/span>p<\/span>roducer with various media institutions for Arab and Western channels. He <\/span>has <\/span>made many short films that screened on different film festivals<\/span>, including „<\/span>Teena<\/span>„<\/span>, <\/span>„<\/span>Coffee and Oranges<\/span>„<\/span>, <\/span>„<\/span>Feather of the Birds<\/span>„<\/span> and <\/span>„<\/span>Studio<\/span>„.<\/span> In 2013<\/span>,<\/span> he received the Best Arabic Theater Script award from the Arab Authority for Theater for <\/span>„<\/span>Apple Pies<\/span>„<\/span>. Since 2014<\/span>,<\/span> has <\/span>Amjad\u202fworked as <\/span>the <\/span>Head of <\/span>the <\/span>Programming Committee <\/span>at the <\/span>Sudan Independent Film Festival.\u202fHis last feature film as a director and <\/span>c<\/span>o-<\/span>p<\/span>roducer<\/span>,<\/span> „<\/span>You <\/span>W<\/span>ill <\/span>D<\/span>ie at <\/span>T<\/span>wenty<\/span>„<\/span> won <\/span>the Li<\/span>on of the <\/span>F<\/span>uture at <\/span>the <\/span>Venice <\/span>I<\/span>nternational <\/span>F<\/span>ilm <\/span>F<\/span>estival and 20 awards from <\/span>various <\/span>Arab and international film festivals<\/span>. I<\/span>t was the first submission in history from Sudan to the Oscars. Now with his production company\u202fStation Films<\/span>,<\/span>\u202fhe is producing many new feature films with different Sudanese filmmakers.\u202f<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>

Hawa <\/span>Essuman<\/span><\/span> is a filmmaker, writer, director and sometimes producer of films who originally directed theatre and television drama. She now has a track record of over a decade of successful filmmaking. She co-directed the documentary feature <\/span>„<\/span>S<\/span>ilas“<\/span>, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and directed the multi award<\/span>–<\/span>winning film <\/span>„<\/span>S<\/span>oul<\/span> B<\/span>oy“<\/span> that screened at over 40 film festivals worldwide. Other completed works include a short film contributed to the Tate Modern exhibition for <\/span>Olafor<\/span> Eliasson<\/span>‚<\/span>s Little Sun Project. She<\/span>‚<\/span>s also the co-founder of Manyatta Screenings – a bi-annual film program showcasing shorts from greater East Africa. She supports the next generation of African filmmakers by running master classes, workshops and panels on filmmaking across the continent.<\/span>\u202f<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

Heidi Fleisher<\/span><\/span> is an American documentary film producer and consultant based in Paris.\u202fShe previously handled international acquisitions for France <\/span>T\u00e9l\u00e9vision<\/span>‚<\/span>s<\/span> feature doc strand 25 Shades of Docs, has worked as a <\/span>d<\/span>evelopment <\/span>e<\/span>xec<\/span>utive<\/span> in Los Angeles, and as <\/span>h<\/span>ead of <\/span>s<\/span>ales <\/span>and<\/span> a<\/span>cquisitions for ARTE Sales. She frequently works as a mentor and expert for producer\/filmmaker labs, festivals, pitch forums and industry events. Production credits include feature documentaries <\/span>„Wake Up on Mars“<\/span> by Dea<\/span> Gjinovci<\/span> (Tribeca 2020), <\/span>„Don’t Breathe“<\/span> by Nino Kirtadze (TIFF 2014), and the collection of short docs currently in production <\/span>„Elemental<\/span>: Atomic Tales & Periodic Fables<\/span>„<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>
